Role overview
Newsquest Media Group is hiring a part-time Designer for its print hub. The position is remote within the UK and involves creating eye-catching front pages for established print publications. The schedule is two days per week, amounting to a 26-hour fortnight.
This role suits someone who enjoys print design, understands how to build strong front pages, and can combine visual judgement with efficient delivery in a deadline-focused environment.
Key responsibilities
- Create and refine front pages for a range of print titles.
- Build polished, high-impact page layouts using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
- Shape front pages that stand out on the newsstand and connect with print readers.
- Work closely with the wider hub to deliver pages on time.
Skills, knowledge and experience
- Hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
- A strong sense of layout, typography, design balance, and visual storytelling.
- Knowledge of what makes a print front page effective and appealing to readers.
- Ability to stay organised, prioritise work, and perform well under deadlines.
- Headline writing experience is helpful, though not mandatory.
