Asepha is creating advanced AI software to transform how prescriptions are written, checked, and supported across the pharmacy workflow. This role will influence how clinicians, pharmacists, and patients experience the platform every day.

The mission is to make medication delays a thing of the past. Asepha is building the context graph for the therapy-start journey, connecting the fragmented steps that often slow access to treatment, including intake, coordination, utilization management, and clinical services.

Role overview

The company is seeking a UX-focused Design Engineer with experience shaping AI-driven products. This is a hands-on role where you will take designs from research and journey mapping through wireframes, prototypes, and final specifications for engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full design process, starting with research and journey mapping and continuing through wireframes, prototypes, and polished handoff files for engineering.
• Create user-friendly interfaces for AI-first products, including agentic workflows, human review steps, and live status updates that make automation understandable and reliable.
• Carry out research with pharmacists, clinicians, and operations teams, then translate the findings into product decisions.
• Develop and grow a design system that supports consistency across expanding user groups and workflow types.
• Work closely with engineering, product, and pharmacy specialists to turn unclear clinical workflow challenges into practical, launch-ready experiences.
• Assist sales and customer success by preparing demo environments, pitch assets, and small UI enhancements that support the product story.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in product or UX design, with work samples that show shipped AI-powered products.
• A portfolio that reflects strong UX and UI thinking, along with real product work.
• Solid experience designing for AI systems, including ways to present model confidence, manage failures gracefully, and keep people in control where needed.
• Experience working directly with engineers and delivering designs into production.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, plus familiarity with the design-to-development handoff process.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform well in a fast-moving environment and adjust quickly to shifting priorities.
• Location preference for Toronto, Canada or Manhattan, US, though strong remote candidates will also be considered.

Preferred experience

• Background in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated sectors.
• Exposure to LLM interfaces, chat-based UX, or structured data visualizations.
• Front-end development experience is a plus.
