Role overview

This full-time remote role is centered on carrying out an association’s communications and digital marketing plan. The coordinator will handle email campaigns, website updates, social media publishing, digital content delivery, and related marketing operations to support member engagement, event promotion, education programs, sponsorship exposure, and overall organizational messaging.

The position also oversees website content through Sanity Studio, a headless CMS used to create, edit, review, stage, and publish digital content in a visual interface.

Primary responsibilities

  • Run the communications and marketing calendar and align timelines with the Director of Programs & Engagement and other stakeholders.
  • Send email communications such as Trending Points, member newsletters, event promotions, certification notices, new-member announcements, and leadership updates.
  • Manage Mailchimp, including audience maintenance, campaign setup, list changes, and performance reporting.
  • Plan, schedule, publish, and monitor social posts on LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant channels.
  • Keep messaging, brand presentation, and user experience aligned across email, website, social media, and other digital touchpoints.
  • Create and edit simple graphics and short videos in Canva or similar tools for social, email, website, and event marketing use.
  • Maintain website content in Sanity Studio, including creating, editing, reviewing, staging, and publishing pages while upholding quality, accessibility, consistency, and brand standards.
  • Build and update site pages using modular components such as hero sections, card grids, rich text blocks, image galleries, forms, reusable blocks, and calls to action.
  • Publish and refresh blog posts, industry updates, resources, member notices, organizational announcements, and thought leadership content prepared by the Content Strategist & Editorial Manager.
  • Handle author details, categories, featured images, SEO metadata, tags, review steps, and publishing workflows for site content.
  • Create and maintain event listings for conferences, webinars, committee meetings, executive roundtables, certification programs, and educational activities, ensuring agendas, speakers, sponsors, registration details, and other information stay current.
  • Manage the media library by uploading, organizing, tagging, and maintaining digital assets with consistent naming, accessibility standards, image optimization, alt text, SEO practices, and media reference tracking.
  • Keep navigation menus, dropdowns, footer content, banners, organization details, social links, contact details, CTA buttons, redirects, and other site settings accurate and up to date.
  • Apply SEO and digital publishing best practices, including metadata, URL structure, image optimization, alt text, tags, social preview settings, index/no-index controls, and accessibility standards.
  • Support review, staging, preview, publishing, and quality assurance steps so site changes are checked thoroughly before going live.
  • Maintain the organization’s Canva workspace, including branded templates, marketing graphics, presentations, digital assets, and image libraries.
  • Assist with event promotion through email, website updates, social media, speaker and sponsor visibility, registration campaigns, and post-event follow-up communications.
  • Track and report on email, website, social media, and campaign performance, and suggest improvements to strengthen engagement and communication effectiveness.
  • Work with the Director of Programs & Engagement on communications that support educational initiatives, committee work, industry programs, partnerships, sponsorships, and association events.

Skills, experience, and capabilities

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content management ability.
  • Hands-on experience with email marketing, social publishing, website updates, and digital marketing execution.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO and digital marketing practices, including metadata, audience engagement, URLs, image optimization, alt text, tagging, and social sharing settings.
  • Experience supporting event marketing, webinar promotion, sponsor visibility, conference communications, and attendee engagement.
  • Ability to manage campaign calendars, coordinate launches, and juggle several deadlines at once.
  • Experience working in website content management systems such as Sanity Studio.
  • Understanding of modular web structures and reusable content components.
  • Experience managing media libraries, file organization, metadata, and accessibility requirements.
  • Comfort working through draft, staging, preview, and publishing workflows.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality, accessibility, governance, consistency, and brand standards.
  • Ability to learn new web technologies and content platforms quickly.
  • Experience with Mailchimp or similar email platforms.
  • Experience using LinkedIn, Instagram, and comparable social platforms.
  • Proficiency with Canva, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools for graphics and basic video editing.
  • Experience using CRM, project management, and marketing technology platforms.
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret marketing data and identify ways to improve performance.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, members, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and external partners.
  • Commitment to strong member service and professional stakeholder communication.

Background with Mailchimp, CRM tools, website CMS platforms, and marketing analytics tools is preferred. Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, healthcare media, point-of-care marketing, association, nonprofit, or professional services environments is preferred. Prior work with headless CMS platforms, especially Sanity Studio, is an advantage.
