Role overview

This position is based at the Downtown Kelowna Safeway store and is part of the store operations team in British Columbia. It offers the chance to work in a busy café setting, serving customers and building strong knowledge of coffee and tea service while delivering a friendly, efficient experience.

What you’ll do

• Follow company policies, procedures, and operating standards consistently.
• Welcome customers courteously and create a positive service experience.
• Deliver customer service in line with Safeway’s service programs.
• Handle cash register transactions using cash, cheque, credit card, gift card, and debit payment methods.
• Make hot and cold drinks, including specialty coffee beverages.
• Restock supplies and assist with ordering product as needed.
• Carry out light cleaning tasks assigned to the café area.

• No prior work experience is required.
• Quick learning ability and willingness to pick up new tasks fast.
• Comfort working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• Strong motivation and a team-focused approach.
• Clear communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Solid customer service mindset.
• Commitment to safe and responsible work practices.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts.
• Evening and weekend availability is preferred.
• Ability to be scheduled at any time on Sunday, where applicable.
• Physical capability to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally, stand and bend frequently, use a computer and point-of-sale system often, and walk or squat occasionally.
