About the role

This position is for a COO who can bring order to fast-moving operational complexity and design the systems needed for a business that is expanding at a very rapid pace. The mandate is to build the infrastructure behind several direct-to-consumer brands so the company can scale aggressively while staying financially and operationally sound.

In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of operations, finance, risk, supply chain, systems, and execution. You will act as the senior leader of the company’s backend functions and work directly with the founder on the most important growth and scaling decisions.

Company overview

The organization is a rapidly expanding DTC wellness business centered on performance marketing, fast execution, and ambitious growth. What began as one ecommerce brand has grown into a broader plan to build a portfolio of consumer brands and a high-performing team that can support long-term scale.

The culture is highly autonomous, quick-moving, and built around accountability. Team members are expected to think like owners, solve problems independently, and keep improving the business with urgency and high standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the full backend of the business, including operations, finance, systems, execution, and outcomes.
  • Design and implement scalable SOPs, reporting dashboards, ownership frameworks, workflow systems, and operating rhythms.
  • Improve financial clarity through forecasting, reconciliation, cashflow planning, reporting, and operational planning.
  • Create controls and alert systems that surface issues such as checkout failures, payment problems, inventory risk, and fulfillment delays before they become major business problems.
  • Manage inventory planning, supplier coordination, procurement processes, warehouse communication, landed cost tracking, and broader operational forecasting.
  • Build and grow the operations and finance function over time, including hiring, onboarding, accountability, and role ownership.
  • Reduce founder dependence by taking full responsibility for execution, systems, and operational complexity.
  • Spot risks, bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and scaling constraints early, then resolve them quickly.
  • Lead urgent, high-impact work that improves the company’s ability to scale across multiple brands.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a high-growth DTC, ecommerce, or performance-led business.
  • Strong capability across forecasting, reconciliation, reporting, operational systems, and infrastructure building.
  • Proven experience creating systems and processes from the ground up rather than only maintaining existing ones.
  • Strong analytical ability, excellent attention to detail, and the skill to identify risks and inefficiencies early.
  • A founder-like mindset with high ownership and comfort making independent decisions.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, shifting priorities, urgent issues, and high-pressure situations while maintaining speed and quality.
  • Comfort working across finance, operations, supply chain, systems, and execution.
  • Ambition and motivation to help build something substantial over the long term.

What success looks like

Within the first 30 days, the selected leader should fully take over current operations and finance workflows so key processes no longer rely on the founder for follow-up or manual monitoring.

By 60 days, the goal is to establish clear visibility across reporting, inventory, and finance while making processes more reliable and less fragile.

By 90 days, the business should have scalable operational infrastructure, stronger financial visibility, improved payment and risk systems, and much less founder involvement in day-to-day backend work.

What you get

  • Full ownership of the operational and financial backend of the business.
  • Direct collaboration with the founder on the highest-leverage initiatives and key growth decisions.
  • The opportunity to build systems, reporting, operating rhythms, and team structure from the ground up.
  • A high-trust, high-autonomy environment with meaningful decision-making authority and little micromanagement.
  • Long-term upside from helping shape future brands, infrastructure, and organizational strategy as the company grows.
  • The chance to work in a high-performance culture with people who value speed, execution, and high standards.
