Role overview
The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for steering the organization’s day-to-day and long-range operations so that production, supply chain flow, and service delivery run smoothly across APL Apollo Tubes Company LLC UAE. In this leadership position, the role is designed as a full-time hybrid arrangement based in Paris, combining in-person work with some remote flexibility.
The COO will connect operational execution with business objectives, shape and implement operating plans, and lead efforts that improve productivity, safety, and quality. This position also involves budget ownership, team leadership across functions, process enhancement, KPI tracking, and close coordination with senior management on strategy, compliance, risk, and stakeholder relations. A key part of the role is building a culture of accountability, performance, and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Direct end-to-end operations so production, supply chain performance, and service delivery remain efficient and reliable.
- Translate corporate goals into practical operating plans and oversee execution across the business.
- Lead initiatives to strengthen productivity, workplace safety, and product or service quality.
- Manage budgets, control operating costs, and allocate resources in support of growth and profitability.
- Supervise and align cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated delivery of business priorities.
- Review processes regularly and introduce improvements that raise efficiency and effectiveness.
- Track key performance indicators and use operational data to guide decisions and corrective actions.
- Work with executive leadership on strategic planning, risk oversight, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Promote a high-accountability environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong capability in business planning and strategic leadership to align operations with long-term objectives.
- Solid background in operations management, including process optimization, supply chain oversight, and performance management.
- Advanced analytical ability to interpret data and convert insights into better operational outcomes.
- Good financial and budgeting skills to manage expenses and support sustainable expansion.
- Substantial senior leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial, or infrastructure sectors, preferably steel or construction.
- Proven experience leading varied teams, managing organizational change, and building cooperation across functions and regions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with internal teams and external stakeholders at different levels.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering, finance, or a related discipline is expected; an MBA is considered a plus.
- Experience in international or multicultural settings is valuable, and familiarity with UAE or regional markets is an added advantage.
