About the role

Griffin's Snacks is hiring a commercially minded Category Executive to join its head office in Ellerslie, Auckland. This opportunity has opened up because of an internal promotion. The role is focused on supporting category growth by turning data into practical insights, helping shape strategic actions, and working alongside sales, marketing, and retail partners.

Reporting to the Head of Category, you will provide broad category support across space management, reporting, administration, and day-to-day operational tasks. You will work closely with the Category, Marketing, Sales, and Customer teams to supply analysis, reporting, and support that improves business decisions and execution. The position includes support for planogram rollout, category reporting, data accuracy, pricing and promotion analysis, and other core category processes.

You will also collaborate with the New Zealand sales team and other stakeholders to make sure reporting tools, insights, and category information are accurate and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with space management work, including planogram implementation and shelf share tracking.
  • Prepare category reports and market data updates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with data partners and agencies, ensuring product and category information stays current and correct.
  • Support category work through pricing analysis, promotion analysis, customer ranging updates, forecasting assistance, field reporting, and invoice processing.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Customer teams to generate useful insights.
  • Help maintain strong data integrity and reporting quality across key category systems and platforms.
  • Contribute to a strong team environment by living the company values and taking ownership of your own growth and development.

What you will bring

  • A tertiary qualification in commerce, marketing, or business is preferred.
  • Prior FMCG experience is an advantage.
  • Strong capability in Excel, PowerPoint, IRI, and Nielsen; experience with tools such as Dunnhumby and Quantium would be a bonus.
  • Exposure to systems such as SAP.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability, with sound financial understanding and the ability to convert data into clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with confidence engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commercially curious and proactive approach.
  • Strong organisation, resilience, time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • A collaborative, high-performing team mindset with the ability to build effective working relationships.

What you can expect

Along with plenty of snacks in the workplace, you can expect a supportive environment where you feel engaged and appreciated, plus opportunities to grow your career. The company also offers a strong commitment to community partnerships and a focus on health and wellbeing, including Wellbeing Days and Volunteer Days.
