About the Role
This role is focused on owning a product category end to end, with responsibility for both revenue growth and profitability. The selected professional will drive initiatives that improve the customer experience, strengthen commercial performance, and support the execution of the category roadmap by coordinating closely with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and refine a long-range strategy and plan for category growth.
- Collaborate effectively with buying, marketing, and merchandising teams to ensure alignment.
- Take full ownership of the category’s revenue and margin performance.
- Identify and onboard new brands or vendors, and shape pricing approaches to support the category.
- Manage the product mix, assortment planning, and inventory control.
- Handle vendor sourcing, relationship building, and ongoing vendor management.
- Support customer management by maintaining important customer relationships and enabling multiple sales channels.
- Optimize omni-channel performance by balancing online and offline sales efforts.
- Use category analytics to spot growth opportunities and turn insights into action.
- Contribute to new product development initiatives.
Education & Experience
The role requires at least 3 years of experience in Buying & Merchandising. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from NIFT is mandatory.
