About the Role
This is a short-term remote contract for a STEM Biology expert focused on task-based work. The assignment runs for 3 months and is designed to support evaluation of large language models through advanced Biology problem creation, solution writing, and analysis.
Compensation is set at $250 per task. The role requires a minimum commitment of 4 hours per day, with flexibility of up to 40 hours per week, and at least 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Time (PST).
Key Work Areas
- Create difficult Biology questions that help test where AI models fail or show weak reasoning.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, step-by-step solutions with strong logical reasoning.
- Work with LLM researchers to ensure the task types match evaluation objectives, especially for topics that are challenging for models.
- Help shape new benchmark sets using Biology content from early undergraduate level through PhD-level material.
- Break down and solve complex biological problems using a clear, structured method.
- Present Biology ideas in simple terms, and use visuals or simulations when helpful.
- Review AI evaluation outputs by adding useful feedback and detailed annotations.
Requirements
- A Master’s or PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline, or current enrolment in a PhD/postdoctoral program.
- Strong ability in research, analysis, and structured problem-solving.
- Experience giving thoughtful feedback and detailed annotations.
- Creative thinking and the ability to approach problems from different angles.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration in a remote environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Access to a desktop or laptop and a dependable internet connection.
- Capability to explain biology concepts in plain language, with visuals or simulations when needed.
- A LinkedIn profile must be included in the resume.
