This position supports the hotel’s people development agenda by aligning learning initiatives with the organization’s mission, vision, brand values, and service standards. The role partners with property leaders to uncover employee and organizational development needs, build effective training solutions, and ensure learning efforts contribute to strong business outcomes.
The job covers training topics such as product knowledge, company philosophy, guest service, and leadership capability. It also involves analyzing training needs, creating and adapting learning programs, delivering both custom and corporate sessions, and checking whether the training produces measurable business value.

Key responsibilities
- Communicate available learning opportunities to employees and encourage participation in training programs.
- Model strong guest-service behavior and help build a positive service culture.
- Guide employees toward the behaviors and standards that support excellent guest experiences.
- Ensure continuous training so staff understand guest expectations and service standards.
- Use effective teaching methods that build confidence in guest satisfaction skills and service delivery.
- Work regularly with the training team to support ongoing development efforts.
- Observe employee service behavior and share practical feedback with individuals and managers.
- Track training attendance and participation levels across programs.
- Meet with participants regularly to review progress and resolve concerns.
- Coordinate with operational leaders to evaluate technical capability and leadership performance.
- Review guest feedback, comment cards, satisfaction data, and other indicators to identify development needs.
- Assess how well learning transfers into day-to-day operations.
- Apply adult learning principles when designing and delivering programs.
- Ensure all training efforts remain connected to the company’s mission, vision, and business priorities.
- Identify performance gaps and work with managers to create suitable development solutions.
- Adjust training methods or provide retraining when required.
- Align learning programs with important business measures and operational outcomes.
- Create clear guidelines so employees understand expectations and limits.
- Develop targeted training that improves service performance.
- Embed brand values and philosophy into all learning activities.
- Include guest satisfaction topics in department meetings and promote continuous improvement.
- Support preparation of the training budget when needed.
- Manage spending in line with HR objectives and property financial targets.
- Control departmental costs to meet or exceed budget goals.
- Use a P-card where appropriate to monitor and manage expenses.
Candidate profile
This role requires either a 2-year degree or a 4-year bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field. The 2-year degree route requires 2 years of experience in human resources or a related professional area and certification as a trainer. The bachelor’s degree route requires a certified trainer and does not require prior work experience.
