Role Purpose

The Assistant Accountant will support financial control by handling accurate and timely processing across key finance activities. This is a practical, hands-on position with responsibility for month-end support, reconciliations, and transactional finance work.

Key Duties

  • Support month-end close by preparing journals and accrual entries.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with HFM reporting and data validation.
  • Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.
  • Help with payroll processing and reconciliation.
  • Support revenue maintenance and ledger upkeep.
  • Assist with BAS, GST, and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Prepare documentation required for audits.

Process and Controls

  • Work within established finance processes and SOX controls.
  • Check that work is complete and accurate before submission.
  • Escalate issues to the Senior Financial Accountant when needed.

Working Arrangement

This is a part-time role with flexible hours. To support teamwork within the Finance function, the successful candidate must work from the office on Thursdays.

Outside of that requirement, working days and hours can be arranged flexibly in consultation with the Line Manager, based on business needs and team requirements.

Experience and Skills Needed
