Asset Management Analyst

Role overview

We are seeking a Financial Analyst or Senior Analyst to join a multifamily asset management team in Washington, DC. This full-time, on-site role offers an early-career professional the chance to build hands-on experience in real estate private equity, with exposure to asset management, acquisitions, financing, and investment strategy.

In this position, you will help evaluate portfolio performance, support investment decisions, and contribute to value creation across a nationally recognized multifamily portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with property management teams to implement business plans and operational initiatives at the asset level.
• Review property financial statements, rent rolls, operating budgets, and capital expenditure plans to assess performance.
• Create and update financial models, cash flow forecasts, and return analysis tools.
• Study market conditions, economic indicators, and competing properties to inform strategic recommendations.
• Draft investment memorandums, presentations, and management reports for senior leaders.
• Take part in quarterly presentations on portfolio performance.
• Support due diligence work related to acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing transactions.
• Help coordinate debt financing processes and communication with lenders.
• Visit properties and attend market tours when needed.

Required profile

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a closely related discipline.
• 0–2 years of applicable real estate experience, including internships.
• Strong capability in financial modeling and analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills, along with working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational habits and a sharp eye for detail.
• Self-driven mindset with the ability to perform well in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
• Exposure to Python or SQL is considered an advantage, though not mandatory.
• Willingness to be in the office five days a week and travel occasionally to property sites.
