Role Overview
Autism A Chara is hiring an Area Manager for Leinster on a specific purpose contract. The position is based in Newtownmountkennedy, County Wicklow, and involves 39 hours of work each week. The salary will be set according to the successful candidate’s experience. Job reference: AM_NTMKSP_2306.
Key Responsibilities
The role focuses on area-level management across services in Leinster, including regular travel to service locations as part of the position. The successful candidate will oversee teams, contribute to service delivery, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
Essential Criteria
- A degree in Social Care, RNID Nursing, Psychology, Social Science, or another related discipline is required.
- Applicants should bring at least four years of management experience, including responsibility for leading a team.
- Working knowledge of applicable legislation and standards, including HIQA, the Health Act 2007, and New Directions 2012 (HSE), is required.
- A full, clean Irish driving licence is mandatory, with at least 2 years’ driving experience and the driver being 23 years of age or older for insurance purposes.
- Candidates must have 5 years’ experience in the care sector.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working in autism services will be an advantage.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and a solid record of managing people effectively.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- Capable of contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience leading projects and driving them forward.
Schedule and Work Location
The appointed candidate will be based in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow, but will need to travel throughout Leinster to support services.
