About the role

KPMG New Zealand is seeking a Business Advisory Accountant to join its Private Enterprise team in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. This opportunity is suited to someone with solid accounting experience who wants to deepen their exposure across a broad client portfolio while developing faster through a specialist team environment.

What you’ll do

  • Work through client issues, shape practical solutions, and help contribute to a strong team culture.
  • Prepare a variety of financial and compliance outputs with different levels of complexity, including annual accounts, tax returns, and related tax compliance work.
  • Support information collection and assist with knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Deliver accurate technical compliance work and help build capability in others through guidance and support.

What we’re looking for

  • At least 2 years of experience in a New Zealand Chartered Accounting setting.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting and Finance.
  • Progress toward, or current membership of, CAANZ or CPA, or an equivalent overseas professional body.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and a computerised accounting platform such as Xero, XPA, APS, or MYOB.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Well-developed organisation and time management skills.
  • Confidence handling several tasks at once.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • A professional, client-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently when needed.
