Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site leadership position in Abu Dhabi. The Vice Principal supports the Principal in the academic and operational running of the school, with responsibility for daily oversight of school activity, instructional quality, curriculum delivery, and adherence to the school’s vision, mission, and values.
Key Duties
- Assist the Principal in managing the school’s academic and operational functions.
- Provide instructional leadership by guiding curriculum implementation, lesson planning, assessment approaches, and teaching standards.
- Work closely with heads of department and teachers to track student progress and improve learning outcomes.
- Encourage inclusive, student-focused teaching practices across the school.
- Oversee staff timetables and support smooth day-to-day school operations.
- Monitor student conduct and help maintain a positive, orderly school environment.
- Respond to questions and concerns from parents and the wider school community.
- Ensure school practices remain aligned with internal policies and external regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to and lead school improvement projects and professional learning initiatives.
- Support co-curricular programs and other activities that enrich the student experience.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated strength in educational leadership and school administration, including oversight of academic programs, staff performance, and daily operations.
- Solid background in instructional leadership, including curriculum planning, assessment development, and improvement of teaching and learning.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills for working with students, colleagues, families, and external partners.
- Capability in student support and behavior management, with a focus on a safe, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere.
- Excellent organization and problem-solving ability, with experience handling multiple priorities and leading initiatives.
- Alignment with the school’s values of tolerance, care, honesty, respect, resilience, and integrity.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a closely related discipline is expected; a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or a similar field is strongly preferred.
- Prior service in a senior leadership role such as Head of Department, Assistant Principal, Vice Principal, or an equivalent position, ideally in an international or multi-curriculum school.
