Utility Person 2nd Shift

Role overview

Martin Marietta is looking for a Utility Person to support plant activities on the second shift. The right candidate will be reliable, safety-focused, and ready to handle a mix of maintenance, production, and equipment-related work. This position involves keeping equipment in good working order, supporting plant housekeeping, and helping operations run smoothly.

Work hours are 4:00 pm to 2:00 am, with weekends included when needed.

What you'll do

• Carry out preventive and routine upkeep on mobile and plant equipment, including cutting and welding when directed by the plant manager or another authorized person.
• Complete daily equipment checks before and after the shift and keep maintenance records up to date.
• Use a hand shovel and operate equipment such as a skid steer, front-end loader, and related tools to clean around plant machinery and maintain roads and parking areas.
• Run a water truck to help reduce dust in the air.
• Support plant functions such as production, loading, shipping, and quality control.
• Keep assigned areas clean, organized, and safe, and help maintain proper traffic flow across the site.
• Operate mobile plant equipment such as excavators and haul trucks safely when required.
• Help train coworkers when necessary.
• Take on other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
