Terminal Operations Supervisor

Role Overview

This position is accountable for overseeing the safe, smooth, and high-productivity running of yard and vessel operations at the terminal. The role focuses on maintaining operational discipline, coordinating resources, and supporting efficient vessel turnaround.

Key Duties

• Make sure all assigned employees and third-party terminal users comply with safe work practices.
• Coordinate the deployment of terminal assets and manpower so operations run efficiently.
• Prepare the terminal for incoming vessels, including correct and safe placement of quayside equipment.
• Support vessel and yard productivity under the guidance of the duty Vessel Controller.
• Oversee terminal housekeeping and routine maintenance activities as needed.
• Work with the Engineering Department on faulty equipment and any servicing needs.
• Support training of operators whenever the opportunity arises.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in container terminal operations is required. Prior exposure to terminal operating systems is necessary, with MACH preferred.

Certifications and Other Requirements

• Safety-related certifications such as First Aid or IOSH will be an advantage.
• A valid driving licence is required.

This role is based in Khor Fakkan, Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates, and is a full-time, on-site position.
