The role focuses on maintaining enterprise software compliance, improving software utilization, and supporting accurate license management through ServiceNow SAM Pro.
The analyst will work as a key individual contributor, analyzing software usage against contractual entitlements, preparing Effective License Position (ELP) reporting, and helping drive remediation actions where compliance gaps are found. The role also involves acting as a bridge between software owners and the ITAM team to support contract renewals, end-of-life identification, and planning for remediation across the software lifecycle.
This position reports to the Executive Director - IT Asset Management and requires attendance at the Tralee office as part of a hybrid work arrangement. Employees are expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office, and the specific schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
Key responsibilities
- Create Effective License Position reports by matching software entitlements with actual usage for selected publishers.
- Review reconciliation outputs to find non-compliant software deployments and take steps to resolve them.
- Coordinate remediation work for licensing issues so compliance is maintained over time.
- Track SAM process performance and highlight opportunities to strengthen procedures.
- Set up and support ServiceNow SAM Pro, including software model setup, DMAP changes, and custom license metric creation.
- Collect usage evidence such as screenshots and configure tracking measures that improve licensing accuracy.
- Load new software entitlement purchases into ServiceNow SAM Pro.
- Maintain software catalog records and ensure authorized software models remain accurate.
- Handle incoming software requests by checking whether existing entitlements can be reused before purchase is raised.
- Keep software lifecycle records current, including active and end-of-life status updates.
- Analyze utilization reports to identify applications that are not being used efficiently.
- Define software removal rules for low-use applications to reduce cost and improve license efficiency.
- Manage software contract renewals in ServiceNow with accurate and timely updates.
- Support end-of-life discovery and remediation planning for software assets.
- Work closely with software owners and ITAM stakeholders to align lifecycle activities with business objectives.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in Software Asset Management or IT Asset Management.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow SAM Pro and software lifecycle workflows.
- Exposure to vendor management and major publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, or VMware.
- Understanding of software entitlements, EULAs, and usage rights.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational ability.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills.
- Self-driven attitude with a willingness to learn and develop in a structured setting.
- Professional credentials such as CSAM, CITAM, CHAMP, or CAMSE are considered an advantage.
- Awareness of banking industry context and/or legal and regulatory considerations tied to IT Asset Management.
- Experience using software asset management platforms, preferably ServiceNow SAM Pro.
- Hands-on exposure to ServiceNow modules for service requests, contracts, and SAM.
- FinOps certification is also listed as a desirable credential.
