Role Overview
Muiríosa Foundation is hiring motivated, creative, and energetic Social Care Workers / Support Workers for its day services in Meath and Westmeath. The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis and is focused on helping people shape lives that reflect their own choices, priorities, and interests.
This role is centred on supporting individuals to take part in their communities, build meaningful connections, explore new experiences, and develop genuine relationships. The successful candidate will bring experience in person-centred practice, support planning, communication support, and working with people who may present with behaviours of concern.
What the Role Involves
You will help individuals access valued social roles, strengthen community inclusion, and receive support that is tailored to their needs and preferences. The work calls for a person-directed approach and a strong commitment to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism in a respectful, practical, and empowering way.
Requirements
- A recognised qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies in Social Care, or Social Care Practice at minimum Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications, with CORU approval.
- Social Care candidates must already be registered with CORU or actively in the registration process.
- A relevant QQI Level 5 qualification.
- Previous experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
- Experience working with people with a wide range of support needs, including behaviours of concern.
- Working knowledge of New Directions.
- A valid full Irish driving licence for a manual vehicle.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an adaptable approach.
- Ability to work well as part of a dependable, supportive team.
- Commitment to helping people build connections within their local community.
- Good interpersonal, organisational, logistical, and IT skills.
- Suitability for the post as outlined in the role introduction.
