Role Overview

Releaf is hiring an SEO Content Manager who can balance strategy, hands-on writing, and team leadership. The role suits someone who enjoys shaping content direction, producing high-quality copy personally, and helping a small writer team perform at its best.

You will be responsible for the content plan in your area, manage a pod of two writers, and stay directly involved in key pages and articles. The position is reporting to the Head of Content and requires work that is commercially focused, search-optimised, on-brand, and compliant with the regulations relevant to the sector.

Key Responsibilities

Own the content roadmap for your subject area and work with the Head of Content to convert business and SEO priorities into a practical plan.
Supervise, coach, and support two SEO writers by setting expectations and providing regular, constructive feedback.
Produce important flagship pages and articles yourself, establishing the standard for the rest of the team.
Review, refine, and approve your pod's content so it is accurate, brand-aligned, and optimised before publication.
Turn the roadmap into clear briefs, assign work across the pod, and monitor progress to keep delivery on schedule.
Apply on-page SEO best practice and use performance data to decide what should be created, updated, or improved.
Protect the company's tone of voice and maintain a strong level of expertise, authority, and trust.
Ensure all published material in your area meets the compliance and regulatory standards that apply to the industry.
Collaborate closely with the Head of Content, the SEO team, and wider marketing colleagues to keep messaging and execution aligned.

Essential Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in SEO content, including content planning and writer management or mentoring.
Proven ability to use SEO content to increase organic traffic and audience engagement.
Excellent written English at a native level, with strong grammar and sound editorial judgement.
Experience creating content in healthcare, lifestyle, wellness, or another regulated and high-trust field.
Comfort interpreting performance data and converting insights into clear action.

Preferred Experience

Working knowledge of SEO platforms such as Ahrefs, Semrush, or Google Search Console, and CMS tools such as Dato or Sanity.
Awareness of how AI search and large language models are changing search behaviour.
Experience designing editorial workflows and content frameworks.
Understanding of compliance requirements in a regulated environment.

Performance and Reporting

You will be accountable for the plan, the quality, and the output in your area, including your own writing and the work of the two writers you oversee. Your performance will be judged by the strategy you set, the quality of the output, and how the content performs after publication. Reporting is on a regular basis to the Head of Content.

Reviews are structured as follows: monthly check-ins covering plan progress, output, quality, and performance; and quarterly reviews taking a deeper look at organic results and team development, with priorities defined for the following quarter.

Measures of Success

Organic growth in traffic and rankings across the content you own, measured against targets agreed with the Head of Content.
A consistent volume of published work that is accurate, on brand, and requires minimal further editing.
Clear development of your writers over time, supported by structured feedback and guidance.
A current and well-organised content plan that reflects both business needs and SEO priorities.
