Role overview
This position focuses on studying market movements, regulatory changes, and customer/distributor needs to spot growth opportunities and support stronger product positioning. The role also contributes to evaluating financial services market offerings against the organisation’s current products and propositions, building a consistent framework for analysing product features and benefits, and supporting commercial and strategic decisions.
In addition, the role supports sales enablement through product collaterals developed from research and analysis, contributes to the Product Development Process for individual and group products, manages and enhances the Actuarial and Product Management Portal, and reviews Day 2 requirements for individual and group products.
Job context and key challenges
The position requires close attention to shifting regulations, economic conditions, and market expectations in order to recommend suitable product directions. It also involves monitoring the product lifecycle, preparing competition-based material for the sales team, and driving adoption and ongoing development of the Actuarial and Product Management Portal.
- Identify product needs from both customer and distributor perspectives in a changing economic environment.
- Recommend products and propositions in response to frequent regulatory updates.
- Track the product lifecycle and provide sales teams with competition-led product material.

Key result areas
Develop product requirement framework
Evaluate industry trends and uncover opportunities across customer solution areas such as wealth, child, retirement, health, rural, protection, and group offerings.
- Assess how the economic environment affects the financial services space and turn research findings into product recommendations.
- Review the effect of regulatory changes on existing products.
Product and proposition analysis
Prepare monthly internal product performance summaries and share the insights with management.
- Create analysis formats that combine quantitative and qualitative views for easier interpretation and stronger competitive positioning.
- Identify ways to showcase a product’s strengths through its features and benefits.
Product research and development process
Coordinate distributor and customer research with Marketing to understand product impact and future requirements.
- Collect product-related insights from social media frameworks.
- Track market intelligence, including competitor launches and product performance.
- Draft and review brochures, application/enrolment forms, COI, FAQs, policy contracts, product specifications, and product presentations for individual and group products.
- Support data gathering, analysis, and research for existing product communication materials.
Sales support
Build and maintain strong knowledge of key markets and products in the portfolio, including product strategy and positioning across the lifecycle.
- Create materials such as product newsletters and monthly competitive review updates for the sales team.
Management and development of the actuarial and product management portal
Lead enhancements to the portal in coordination with the IT team and help popularise its use across stakeholders.
- Share product information with internal and external users through the portal.
- Handle queries raised through the portal for both internal and external customers.
