Sage X3 Technical Consultant / Developer

Role overview

This position is for a practical, hands-on Sage X3 Technical Consultant / Developer who is comfortable solving intricate technical problems and improving ERP environments. The role supports an Australian manufacturing client and is based in Angamaly, Kochi. It is a permanent full-time opportunity with attractive compensation.

What you will do

You will take charge of the ongoing development and enhancement of the organisation’s Sage X3 environment. The role involves investigating complex issues, creating custom functionality, developing integrations, and delivering technical solutions that keep business operations running smoothly.

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys coding, troubleshooting, and continuously refining ERP systems.

• Own Sage X3 ERP projects end to end, working with different departments to understand needs and identify improvements.
• Use standard Sage X3 capabilities wherever possible, applying knowledge of ERP functional modules and related business processes.
• Define and document the scope, requirements, and development needs for enhancements and system integrations.
• Design, build, and tailor Sage X3 modules to meet business needs.
• Create enhancements using Sage X3 4GL.
• Develop and support integrations with both internal and external systems.
• Investigate and fix complex technical issues.
• Build and maintain Sage reports, including Sage Enterprise Intelligence, SQL queries, database views, and BI reporting outputs for finance and business intelligence.
• Support system upgrades and enhancement initiatives.
• Resolve difficult system errors, manage patch upgrades, and help maintain availability, security, and performance of the Sage platform.
• Create and maintain secure connections between Sage X3 and external tools such as CRM systems, BI platforms, and third-party applications, while following cybersecurity requirements.
• Assist in planning, prioritising, and delivering multiple Sage X3 workstreams and project activities.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of specialised Sage X3 experience, along with 3 complete Sage X3 implementations.
• Strong technical capability in SQL, system configuration, integrations, and programming with Sage X3 4GL, JavaScript, Python, and related languages.
• Hands-on experience with SEI Report Writer tools and Crystal Reports.
• Solid knowledge of Sage X3 setup, configuration, customisation, development tools, object modification, and workflow configuration.
• Experience handling project scoping, planning, requirements collection, business process mapping, and full-cycle process delivery.
• Good understanding of key ERP areas such as finance, supply chain, inventory, and manufacturing.
• Experience supporting clients by phone, online, and in person.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, along with interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
• Capability to work independently and also follow direction when needed.
