Role overview

Sulzer is hiring a Proposal Specialist to join its UK & Nordics Commercial Operations team. The position is open due to the retirement of a long-serving team member, creating a chance to take over an established role with meaningful influence across the business.

In this position, you will help manage and grow the spares offering across the network by producing quotations that are precise, commercially strong and closely matched to customer needs.

What you will do

• Handle the complete enquiry-to-quotation workflow, from initial qualification through to final submission.
• Serve as a central contact for internal stakeholders and customers across the bid process.
• Develop and shape proposals so they clearly present the company’s technical strengths and competitive advantages.
• Work closely with engineering, operations, sales, procurement and finance teams to build bids that are commercially attractive.
• Assist the sales function with clarifications, follow-ups and customer communication.
• Take ownership of reviewing and enhancing spares-related proposals across the UK network.
• Look for ways to improve bid processes so they are faster, more consistent and more accurate.

What you should bring

• Background in tendering, proposals or commercial coordination.
• Some understanding of rotating equipment is helpful, though it is not mandatory.
• Experience with motors or the ability to interpret general arrangement drawings would be a clear advantage.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance several deadlines at once.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in managing multiple stakeholders.
• Careful attention to detail, along with a proactive and customer-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms; experience using Salesforce would be beneficial.
