Overview
FSC is seeking a driven Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to strengthen its Queensland team. The role supports infrastructure delivery across road, rail, tunnelling, energy, utilities and related sectors. You will be responsible for planning, forecasting, resourcing and coordinating technical work so projects are delivered accurately and to a high standard from start to finish.
In this position, you will partner with clients and internal team members to plan, deliver and close out projects across Queensland.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, organise, coordinate and track assigned engineering projects from start through delivery.
- Ensure work follows relevant codes, industry practices, QA/QC standards, performance requirements and specifications.
- Work closely with clients each day to understand their needs and act as their representative on site.
- Oversee overall project quality, including budget, timeline, planning and team performance, and provide regular status updates.
- Delegate tasks and support the growth and development of project team members.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and wider project group to provide technical guidance and practical support.
- Review engineering outputs and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development by building industry relationships, pursuing opportunities and helping expand the project pipeline for FSC and FSC Link.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a proactive engineer with strong energy, a willingness to learn and the ambition to shape their own career path. You should be comfortable contributing to a range of projects and bringing your own perspective to the team.
- A degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 6 years of experience delivering civil infrastructure projects.
- Experience in Queensland and/or with TMR is preferred.
- Ability to lead project teams, solve problems, strengthen health and safety practices and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work positively with key stakeholders to deliver effective client solutions.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
- Capability to work on multidisciplinary projects.
