Role summary
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Personal Trainer in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. The successful candidate will create and lead safe, effective, and engaging training sessions for individuals and small groups, adapting each programme to suit the client’s goals, ability level, and lifestyle. The role also includes fitness testing, demonstrating proper exercise technique, checking form and safety, and updating programmes as clients advance.
Key duties
You will coach clients on realistic nutrition habits, healthier daily routines, and mindset techniques that help them achieve results they can maintain. In addition, you will help maintain a positive gym environment by developing strong relationships with members, supporting community activities, keeping the training space tidy and well organised, and working with the wider coaching team to review client progress and improve programmes.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should bring strong personal training and fitness instruction ability, with confidence coaching people at different experience levels in a supportive way. Experience running structured small-group sessions or circuit-style workouts is important, along with a solid understanding of nutrition so you can give sensible, evidence-based guidance alongside training. A background in sports coaching or athletic development is valuable for motivating clients and encouraging discipline and consistency.
Working conditions
This role may require flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends depending on member schedules and gym operations.
Additional requirements
A recognised fitness qualification, such as personal training or strength and conditioning certification, is required or candidates should be willing to obtain one. A current first aid/CPR qualification is also expected or should be obtainable. The role calls for excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a client-focused and inclusive coaching style, and a strong commitment to professionalism and confidentiality.
