NPD Lead

About the Role

This is a newly created opportunity with a fast-growing New Zealand consumer wellness company that has ambitious plans to expand internationally. The business sells through direct-to-consumer and eCommerce channels and is actively investing in innovation and product development to speed up growth across its current range and new categories.

The position is office-based in Bay of Plenty and offers a negotiable salary. It is well suited to someone who enjoys working in a commercially driven, entrepreneurial setting where ideas are turned into market-ready products.

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the leadership team, you will take ownership of spotting market opportunities and guiding new products from early concept through to launch. You will work closely with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to keep several projects moving at once, ensuring delivery is on schedule, within budget, and aligned with both brand and commercial goals.

The role blends innovation, project coordination, and supplier management, with a strong focus on getting products successfully into the market.

Requirements

• Background in product development, commercialisation, or product management.
• Experience in FMCG, natural health, wellness, beauty, nutrition, or food-related industries.
• Solid knowledge of new product development processes, packaging development, and supply chain factors.
• Proven ability to manage new product launches from concept to commercial release.
• Capability to spot market trends and turn them into viable product opportunities.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple workstreams at the same time.
• Experience partnering with external suppliers, third-party manufacturers, and technical specialists.
• A commercially aware, practical, and solution-oriented approach to innovation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing, growth-oriented business.
• Experience in international markets would be an advantage.
• Must be able to work in the Tauranga region every day.
