Role overview
The Manager Creative Studio is responsible for steering the creative vision and day-to-day creative delivery of HIA’s in-house studio. The position spans brand design, campaigns, content creation, social video, and selected on-ground brand activations. The goal is to keep the HIA brand visually strong, distinctive, and relevant across digital, physical, and social touchpoints, while ensuring ideas are practical for a live airport setting.
What you will do
- Define the studio’s creative direction, standards, visual principles, and execution priorities so brand expression remains distinctive, consistent, and high impact.
- Build a culture of experimentation and high-quality craft by coaching the team, encouraging fresh thinking, and maintaining strong brand discipline.
- Improve briefs and concepts by pushing beyond routine approaches and helping shape clearer, more compelling creative narratives.
- Track global developments in design, content, social storytelling, and destination branding, then translate relevant ideas into studio practice.
- Lead the creation of brand design and campaign look-and-feel by interpreting briefs, shaping concepts, and directing execution.
- Oversee integrated campaign asset development across digital, social, print, OOH, signage, and environmental formats.
- Protect brand consistency while adapting creative output for different audiences, channels, and moments.
- Serve as the senior creative point of reference for brand expression, advising stakeholders and reviewing visual applications.
- Direct content-led creative work, including social films, motion assets, short-form video, and visual storytelling for digital channels.
- Shape narratives, pacing, formats, and visual treatments to make content more engaging and channel-appropriate.
- Work with Brand, Marketing, Digital, Corporate Communications, and Internal Communication teams to improve reach, engagement, and brand perception.
- Encourage testing of new content formats and visual approaches within brand and quality parameters.
- Provide creative direction for selected on-ground activations and events, including visual concepts, layouts, and asset review.
- Make sure event visuals and messaging support wider campaigns and digital narratives.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Creative Studio team while setting clear expectations and performance standards.
- Prioritise briefs and manage workflow across campaign work, content demand, and team capacity to support timely delivery.
- Review and approve outputs for quality, consistency, brand fit, and readiness for release.
- Promote a collaborative studio culture built on open feedback, constructive challenge, and shared problem-solving.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to interpret briefs, align expectations, and develop integrated creative solutions.
- Present ideas clearly, explain creative rationale, and support stakeholder decisions and approvals.
- Coordinate with external agencies or production partners when specialist support or additional scale is needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, along with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Background in leading creative teams, studios, or substantial creative workstreams.
- Strong creative direction capability across brand design, campaigns, and content.
- Hands-on experience with social content, film, and motion-based storytelling.
- Ability to balance creative ambition with operational needs and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop creative talent.
