Role overview

We are hiring qualified Linespersons to strengthen our teams across a range of Southern locations. This is a permanent, full-time field role suited to experienced electrical lines workers who can contribute immediately and work safely in a demanding network environment.

Base locations

Poole, New Forest, Yeovil, Salisbury, West London, Slough, Reading, Swindon, Melksham, Andover, Oxford, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Basingstoke, Aldershot, and Petersfield.

Pay and working pattern

The role offers an earnings potential of around £50k OTE. The base salary is £36,139 to £43,188, plus overtime and standby payments. This is a permanent full-time position, with flexible-first working options available.

What you will do

• Carry out construction and repair activities across the network, from low voltage up to 11/33kV.
• Take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of colleagues, while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
• Respond quickly when emergency situations arise to help maintain customer service.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and take part in out-of-hours standby, including short-notice attendance during storm events.

Requirements

• You must already be a qualified Linesperson; this is not a trainee vacancy.
• Hold DNO electrical qualifications.
• Bring prior experience as an electrical linesperson.
• Have UK DNO industry experience or overhead line qualifications recognised in the UK or overseas for LV, HV, 11kV, and 33kV from a recognised training school.
• Experience or certification in 11kV live-line work is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrate a solid record in constructing, repairing, and operating electrical plant and equipment.
• Show a strong commitment to safety, clear communication skills, the ability to explain technical details well, enthusiasm, drive, flexibility, and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Be willing to complete standby duties out of hours and attend at short notice during severe weather.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
