About Orchestry

Orchestry Software is a forward-thinking SaaS company focused on the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The company builds tools that make workplace operations easier by combining automation, workspace templates, and intelligent suggestions to support standardization, governance, reporting, archiving, and guest administration.

About the Role

Orchestry is hiring a Junior SDET to join its Engineering team. This opportunity is well suited to someone at the beginning of their QA automation path who wants to strengthen their skills while contributing to product quality and reliability. You will partner with experienced SDETs and QA engineers to expand automation coverage, verify new functionality, and help deliver a dependable customer experience.

In this role, you will work on both manual and automated testing across the SaaS platform. You will support better test coverage, catch issues earlier in the delivery cycle, and contribute to overall software quality. The position involves close collaboration with developers, product managers, and QA colleagues throughout planning, development, validation, and release. Orchestry is looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, cares about user experience, learns quickly, and wants to grow in modern quality engineering and automation practices.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out manual, exploratory, and regression testing for new features and product improvements.
  • Create, update, run, and maintain automated test cases within the company’s automation framework.
  • Analyze defects, reproduce issues, and write clear bug reports that help teams act quickly.
  • Check builds and releases using a combination of manual and automated testing methods.
  • Work closely with software developers and QA engineers during feature creation and release activities.
  • Improve and maintain automated test suites to raise coverage and stability.
  • Develop practical knowledge of UI, API, and integration testing approaches.
  • Take part in Agile activities such as sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Help produce test documentation, test plans, and team knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Build proficiency with the engineering stack, including Git, Azure DevOps, Playwright, and related tools.
  • Continue learning the product, internal testing approach, and quality engineering standards.
  • Handle other duties as needed, and take on additional responsibilities as the role changes based on team needs and your interests.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another related technical field.
  • Solid grasp of software development basics and software quality assurance principles.
  • Programming experience in at least one modern language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Python.
  • Familiarity with automated testing concepts and an interest in building automation into the development process.
  • Exposure to frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar through study, projects, internships, or prior work.
  • Working knowledge of Git or other source control tools.
  • Understanding of Agile development practices is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and attention to detail.
  • Comfort with learning new tools, technologies, and engineering workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset with openness to feedback, continuous learning, and quality-focused collaboration.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience creating automated UI or API tests.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD environments.
  • Background in personal, academic, or open-source software projects.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and API testing tools.
  • Experience using Playwright, the primary automation framework used by the engineering team.

Why Orchestry

  • Start your career as a Software Development Engineer in Test with a growing SaaS business.
  • Gain practical exposure to modern automation tools and engineering practices.
  • Learn from experienced developers and QA professionals who support your growth.
  • Work on a modern Microsoft Azure-based SaaS platform used by enterprise customers.
  • Enjoy a flexible remote work setup.
  • Contribute meaningfully to product quality and engineering processes from the beginning.
  • Join a collaborative team focused on simplifying the digital workplace.
