Junior Data Analyst (Entry / Junior Level)

Role overview

This is a part-time remote opportunity for an entry-level Junior Data Analyst. The position supports business decisions by helping teams work with data more effectively and turning raw information into useful insights.

What you will do

• Gather data from different sources, then clean, structure, and prepare it so it is accurate and consistent.
• Create simple reports and dashboards to help track performance and key metrics.
• Carry out exploratory analysis to spot trends, patterns, and meaningful observations.
• Summarize findings in a clear way so they can be used by other teams.
• Work with senior analysts and cross-functional stakeholders to understand what data is needed and confirm that outputs are correct.
• Keep documentation updated for data processes, reporting steps, and analysis methods.
• Support ongoing improvements to analytics processes and workflows.

Qualifications

• You should have strong analytical ability and a solid foundation in data analysis so you can interpret datasets and recognize patterns.
• A basic grasp of statistics and data modeling is needed to help with hypothesis testing and simple predictive insights.
• You must be able to communicate clearly in writing and speaking when sharing findings with both technical and non-technical people.
• Comfort with spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets is important; early exposure to SQL, Python, or R is preferred.
• You need to be able to work on your own in a remote setting, manage your time well, and handle several tasks carefully.
• A willingness to learn new tools and methods, along with openness to feedback and mentorship, is expected.
• Coursework or a degree in a quantitative area such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field is an advantage, though equivalent practical experience may also be accepted.
