The Junior Data Analyst helps turn raw data into useful information that supports business decisions. What you will do
- Gather data from different sources, then clean, check, and verify it so the information remains accurate and consistent.
- Review datasets to spot trends, patterns, and key performance indicators.
- Build routine and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and summaries for internal teams.
- Support the creation of charts and visual outputs that make insights easier to understand and act on.
- Help maintain databases and keep data records properly documented.
- Coordinate with senior analysts to better understand business needs and the methods used for analysis.
- Take part in data quality reviews and governance-related activities.
- Assist in streamlining repetitive data processing and reporting work whenever possible.
- Track performance by monitoring important metrics and indicators.
- Contribute ideas and effort toward improving analysis workflows, processes, and tools.
Qualifications and requirements
You should have a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a similar discipline. The role calls for a basic grasp of data analysis concepts, statistical approaches, and data structures, along with familiarity with spreadsheets, databases, and visualization tools. Exposure to query languages or analytical scripting is an added advantage.
Strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills are important. You should also be able to explain findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, stay organized, manage several tasks at once, and be open to learning new tools and frameworks. Experience gained through academic projects, internships, or personal data analysis work will be considered helpful.
