Role Overview
LHH is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to take ownership of day-to-day HR operations and payroll administration. This role calls for a hands-on HR professional who can manage employee relations, hiring, performance processes, compliance, benefits, and payroll while working in a fast-moving environment. Strong familiarity with employment regulations, payroll procedures, and practical HR standards is essential.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the complete employee journey, from hiring and onboarding through performance management, employee relations, and exit processes.
- Run and supervise bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll so pay is accurate, compliant, and completed on time.
- Keep payroll documentation, employee records, and HR information systems organized and up to date.
- Administer employee benefit programs such as health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and leave programs.
- Make sure HR practices align with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as internal policies.
- Address employee relations issues, conduct investigations, manage disciplinary matters, and support conflict resolution.
- Create, update, and apply HR policies, procedures, and best-practice guidelines.
- Work with managers on coaching, employee growth, and performance reviews.
- Handle workers’ compensation matters, unemployment claims, and required HR compliance reporting.
- Build HR dashboards, payroll summaries, and workforce analytics for leadership review.
- Support employee training, engagement programs, and company-wide events.
- Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning and broader organizational strategy.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in human resources management is required.
- Practical, hands-on payroll processing experience is mandatory.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Experience using HRIS and payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, or comparable systems.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to protect sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred Certifications and Experience
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are preferred.
- Prior experience handling benefits administration and open enrollment is an advantage.
