Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant for the Waikanae village team. This role goes beyond general cleaning: it helps maintain a fresh, welcoming, safe, and homely environment for residents, their families, and the wider team.

Key Duties

• Carry out thorough cleaning in resident bedrooms, bathrooms, shared spaces, laundry areas, and kitchen facilities.
• Wash, dry, fold, and return residents’ clothes and linen with care.
• Label, repair, and look after personal laundry items belonging to residents.
• Follow infection prevention practices and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Build considerate and respectful relationships with residents while being attentive to their individual needs.

Work Options

There are two openings available, and applicants should indicate which option suits them best:

• Full-time role: 40 hours per week across 5 days, Monday to Sunday.
• Part-time role: 16 hours per week across 2 days, Monday to Sunday.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have prior housekeeping experience, preferably within healthcare or hospitality, and will take pride in delivering detailed, high-standard work. You should be physically capable of being on your feet for long periods and have a genuine interest in aged care. Formal experience in aged care is not essential because full training will be provided.
