Role Overview

The Housekeeper reports to the Maintenance Director and is responsible for keeping the community clean, safe, and comfortable for residents, employees, and guests. The role covers housekeeping and laundry support across apartments, shared spaces, restrooms, offices, and linen areas, while also helping with supply restocking, identifying repair needs, and working closely with maintenance and other team members to maintain a welcoming environment.

Key Duties

• Carry out detailed cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, laundry handling, and trash removal.
• Complete assigned cleaning routines on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules in resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, and offices.
• Gather used linens and wash them in line with health and hygiene rules intended to protect residents and staff.
• Sort, fold, and distribute cleaned laundry.
• Monitor supply levels, notify the supervisor when items or equipment are needed, and replenish stock as required.
• Coordinate with maintenance by reporting repair issues observed during the workday.
• Support clear communication with residents’ families regarding care-related matters, including physical, personal, and emotional well-being.
• Take direction from management, work cooperatively with others, and step in to help manage conflicts involving residents, families, employees, or others when needed.
• Handle other assigned responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred. CPR or BLS certification is also preferred. The role requires comfort using common digital tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and other HR-related systems where applicable.

Working Conditions

• The job may require extended walking or standing and regular movement throughout the community, resident apartments, and other areas.
• At times, the employee may need to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance.
• Effective communication and the ability to read and interpret written information are necessary.
• The position may involve lifting up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
• All infection prevention and control procedures must be followed, including PPE use when required, to protect residents, staff, and visitors.
• The role includes active participation in team activities that support collaboration, unity, and morale.
