Role overview
EF Dublin International Language Campus is hiring a student-centered Homestay Coordinator to support international learners through every stage of their host-family stay. The position is central to the student experience and focuses strongly on service quality, wellbeing, communication, and checking standards.
Working pattern and contract
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Immediate start required
- Permanent employment contract
What the role involves
You will be the main contact for students and host families, helping resolve accommodation concerns, setting expectations clearly, arranging moves when needed, and making sure students receive a consistently positive homestay experience across EF Dublin.
The job blends direct student support, relationship management with host families, and quality monitoring through home visits, repeat checks, and welfare checks for students under 18.
Student support
- Serve as the first point of contact for students with questions, concerns, or expectations about homestay accommodation
- Help students navigate homestay difficulties, including managing expectations, resolving conflicts, and arranging accommodation changes
- Organize student relocation where necessary while keeping disruption low and communication clear
Host family relations
- Make and receive calls with host families to offer support, guidance, reassurance, and solutions
- Carry out regular check-in calls to strengthen relationships and identify issues early
- Help host families understand student needs, EF standards, and cultural expectations
Quality and welfare
- Complete new home checks and revisit inspections to confirm ongoing compliance with EF standards
- Carry out welfare checks for under-18 students in line with safeguarding requirements
Administration and coordination
- Keep accommodation records accurate and up to date in EF’s internal systems
- Work with the Homestay Manager to maintain capacity and ensure smooth arrivals and departures, especially during busy periods
- Respond promptly to urgent or emergency accommodation issues
Candidate requirements
- Background in customer service, preferably in a student-facing or accommodation-related environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with students and host families in person, by phone, and/or by email
- Calm, empathetic, and practical approach when handling complaints or sensitive matters
- Well organized with excellent attention to detail
- Good cultural awareness and understanding of the needs of international students living away from home
- Flexible, hands-on attitude, including occasional out-of-hours support linked to welfare needs
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and CRM or database tools is an advantage
- Legal right to work in Ireland at the start of employment
- All offers depend on background screening and two references
