About the Role
Enrollment Data Analysts support Carnegie’s higher education clients by examining enrollment and financial aid data and developing predictive models. The work helps enrollment leaders better understand and improve outcomes related to applications, enrollment, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Create predictive models that help schools identify the factors influencing student applications, enrollment, and retention.
- Clean, refine, and structure data files with careful quality checks so the datasets can better answer research and business questions.
- Partner with clients and internal colleagues to verify the accuracy of datasets and analytical results.
- Share insights through live presentations, written summaries, and slide decks when needed.
- Collaborate smoothly with teammates, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute to a strong team environment.
- Bring a positive, energetic, and committed approach to daily work.
Skills and Qualifications
This role calls for a strong interest in higher education, quantitative research, and statistical methods. The ideal candidate should be comfortable communicating clearly in writing and verbally, staying organized, and working well with diverse teams. Proficiency in statistical software or programming tools such as R, SPSS, SAS, or a comparable language is important, with R preferred. Because the position is remote, candidates should be able to manage time effectively, communicate well across virtual channels, and adapt to multiple technology platforms. The job also requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a similar field with a strong data analysis focus is required. A master’s degree is preferred. The preferred background includes 1 to 3 years of analytical experience in higher education or a related educational setting such as Enrollment Management, Institutional Research, Admissions, Financial Aid, Enrollment Marketing, or Advancement. Experience using multivariate regression and classification methods, including multiple regression, logistic regression, or machine learning techniques, is also desired.
