Role overview
The Electrical Quantity Surveyor III will support the contracts and commercial function on electrical construction projects. The role centers on financial and contractual management, including checking quantities, handling payment submissions, reviewing subcontractor valuations, managing variations, closing final accounts, and confirming site quantities.
Key responsibilities
- Examine Bills of Quantities and update them where needed.
- Prepare client billing submissions and assess subcontractor payment requests.
- Track and evaluate variation orders as well as final account settlements.
- Visit project sites to confirm progress, quantities, and claims for payment.
- Work closely with QA/QC, site, and commercial teams to keep measurements and records aligned.
- Check approved drawings, WIRs, and NCRs to ensure measurements and payment records are accurate.
- Keep contract files organized and assist with commercial administration tasks.
- Take part in training and build technical and software capability over time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in quantity surveying or within the construction sector.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts such as FIDIC, JCT, and NEC, along with BoQ preparation, cost control, and contract administration.
- Practical experience with payment applications, subcontractor valuations, variation orders, and final accounts.
- Ability to use AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Professional quantity surveying credentials such as CQS, RICS, or AIQS are an advantage.
