Role overview

Newsquest Media Group is hiring a part-time Designer for its print hub. The position is remote within the UK and involves creating eye-catching front pages for established print publications. The schedule is two days per week, amounting to a 26-hour fortnight.

This role suits someone who enjoys print design, understands how to build strong front pages, and can combine visual judgement with efficient delivery in a deadline-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

Create and refine front pages for a range of print titles.
Build polished, high-impact page layouts using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
Shape front pages that stand out on the newsstand and connect with print readers.
Work closely with the wider hub to deliver pages on time.

Skills, knowledge and experience

Hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
A strong sense of layout, typography, design balance, and visual storytelling.
Knowledge of what makes a print front page effective and appealing to readers.
Ability to stay organised, prioritise work, and perform well under deadlines.
Headline writing experience is helpful, though not mandatory.
