Role overview

Hack The Box is looking for a Data Analyst to support its cybersecurity-focused customer relationships by turning data into clear proof of business value. In this position, you will analyze how training activity influences human risk, quantify return on investment for the platform, and translate your findings into executive-ready insights for senior stakeholders.

Work location and setup

  • Preferred location: United States, ideally on the East Coast
  • Work arrangement: fully remote

Team and reporting line

This position is part of the Federal Sales organization and reports to the SVP of Global Federal & SLED. You will work alongside account executives and collaborate with BDRs, Solutions Engineers, Customer Success, and the Data Engineering team.

Key responsibilities

Use data analysis to strengthen client partnerships, especially within federal government accounts. Build reporting that explains how cybersecurity training affects engagement, compliance, and security outcomes. Support business reviews with actionable analysis and polished presentations.

  • Work with federal stakeholders to understand compliance and security goals and convert them into data-backed plans.
  • Pull, clean, and shape large datasets using SQL and Python to demonstrate training ROI and the relationship between engagement and incident reduction.
  • Create dashboards and presentations in Looker or Tableau that make results easy for USG leaders to understand.
  • Analyze user activity and simulation data to identify at-risk groups and recommend improvements to training content and curriculum.
  • Protect data quality by reviewing telemetry flows from the product platform into the reporting layer.
  • Develop quick prototypes, statistical checks, and ad-hoc scenario analyses to support client conversations.
  • Take part in executive business reviews and work cross-functionally with Product and Data Engineering to improve reporting capabilities.

Skills and experience needed

  • Strong ability to turn raw information into decision-ready insights for leadership audiences.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with Snowflake experience considered helpful for complex querying.
  • Hands-on Python experience for cleaning data, automation, and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced dashboarding and reporting capability in Looker or similar visualization tools.
  • Excellent Excel knowledge, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and modeling.
  • Clear communication skills with the confidence to present to senior executives.
  • Strong storytelling ability for building narrative-driven decks, not just charts.
  • Good stakeholder management across multiple teams and priorities.
  • Understanding of customer success metrics such as churn, adoption, engagement funnels, and learning outcomes.
  • Exposure to EdTech or cybersecurity is a plus.

Tools and technologies

  • Looker
