Role Summary

Choozle is looking for a highly capable, tech-savvy Controller who can own the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of the company’s financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for core accounting operations, liquidity management, audit and tax coordination, and ongoing improvement of finance processes.

The position also serves as the finance team’s lead sponsor for AI adoption. The successful candidate will help design and roll out AI-enabled workflows, primarily using LLM tools such as Claude, to reduce manual work and improve finance operations. Equally important, this person should help other teams find practical use cases for these tools and build a repeatable adoption model across the company.

Key Areas of Ownership

You will be responsible for short-term cash management and the company’s 13-week rolling cash flow forecast. You will act as the main internal liaison for external partners, including auditors, outsourced accounting support, and the tax filing partner. You will also oversee multi-state sales tax and nexus compliance.

In partnership with the data and BI teams, you will help consolidate systems into a dependable financial source of truth using Snowflake and Looker. What You Will Do

  • Coordinate annual tax filings with the accountant and monitor sales tax, employment tax, and multi-state nexus obligations.
  • Design and implement AI-assisted finance workflows with proper human review and controls.
  • Act as the internal champion for AI adoption by showing teams where LLM tools can create practical leverage.
  • Work with BI and data teams to consolidate billing and financial data from tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, and QBO into a trusted reporting layer.
  • Help define validation methods for month-end reporting and work across the Salesforce-to-HubSpot migration from a finance and billing perspective.
  • Provide direction and mentoring to the internal AR/Billing Analyst, especially on quote-to-cash and billing operations.
  • Use AI-assisted review methods to analyze historical contracts, maintain a vendor master list, and support an organized purchasing policy inside Ramp.
  • Drive the pace and structure of purchasing policy development and vendor management practices.

Working Arrangement

This is a fully remote role for candidates based in the United States. The role requires overlap with Mountain Time core hours and coordination across East Coast contractor teams and Mountain-based executive leadership.

Compensation and Team Structure

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000. The role reports to the VP of Finance & Revenue Operations and includes direct oversight of 1–2 external accounting contractors, along with functional and technical leadership of the internal AR/Billing Analyst.
