Role Summary

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for commercial construction work, reviewing project documentation, coordinating with internal and external partners, and supporting the transition from bidding to execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop precise and competitive estimates for commercial projects, including lump sum bids and negotiated work.
• Review drawings, specifications, and related documents to understand scope, spot risks, and identify value opportunities.
• Work with subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to assemble complete and competitive pricing.
• Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents during pre-construction so estimates align with how the project will be delivered.
• Strengthen and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers while supporting the company’s reputation for fairness and quality.
• Participate in project handoff discussions and clearly explain bid strategy, scope details, and risk considerations to the operations team.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical ability with a careful, detail-focused approach.
• Comfort interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
