Business Analyst

Role overview

This contract Business Analyst role supports a State of Ohio client on a remote basis, with occasional travel to Columbus for meetings. Only local candidates are being considered. The assignment is planned for 6+ months and may be extended.

Interview process

The first interview round will be conducted over Teams. If selected, the second round is expected to take place in person at Rhodes Tower in Columbus.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as an agile scrum master to help teams stay organized, complete sprint commitments, and plan the next set of iterations.
• Contribute to the development of internal Salesforce applications for business users.
• Use wireframes and screen mockups to make requirements easier to visualize for both developers and end users.
• Interview internal stakeholders to understand how products are currently used and what business issues they are facing.
• Draft user stories and partner with UI/UX designers to shape product features.
• Work with developers, application architects, and data architects to define technical specifications for custom builds and integration needs.
• Facilitate product demonstrations with stakeholders and gather feedback for enhancements.
• Support process mapping and process redesign efforts.
• Lead requirement-gathering sessions and translate functional and non-functional needs into specifications, business process diagrams, and workflows.
• Track requirement traceability and document change requests.
• Prepare or refresh project deliverables, artifacts, and technical documentation to align with client expectations.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and project managers to define test strategy.
• Create and run test cases, test scripts, test plans, and test procedures.
• Carry out QA testing to support project delivery.
• Assist with troubleshooting and propose practical solutions and recommendations.

Required background

• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and document both technical and functional IT requirements.
• Ability to test technical and functional IT requirements effectively.
• Experience integrating applications with other internal or external systems.

Duration: 6+ months with a possible extension.

Location: Remote, with travel to Columbus for meetings as needed.
