About the Role

This position is part of Aptiv’s Strategy organization and is based in Boston, Massachusetts. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the role offers a chance to influence major enterprise decisions at a global industrial technology company as it evolves its portfolio across multiple technologies and end markets. The work centers on helping define where the company should compete, how capital should be deployed, and how long-term value can be created.

You will partner with the CEO, executive leadership, and leaders across business units and functions to support the company’s strategic agenda across three broad areas: future platforms, current platforms, and business foundation. Future platforms focus on building the next growth wave through cost-effective solutions in software, sensing, compute, intelligent edge AI, and engineered components. Current platforms emphasize profitable growth, stronger customer value, expansion into adjacent markets, and improved customer mix. Business foundation work includes strengthening talent, processes, tools, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering performance, investment capacity, and risk management.

Core Work

• Lead consulting-style projects on high-priority business questions by framing the problem, collecting and assessing data, developing insights, preparing written deliverables, and presenting findings to senior leaders.
• Create proprietary market views and data-backed models for major product areas and technology shifts such as ADAS adoption, EV growth, software-defined vehicle architecture, robotics, and energy storage.
• Perform detailed financial and operating analysis on customers and competitors, including both established automotive and industrial players as well as emerging technology companies.
• Turn analytical work into executive-ready materials for leadership meetings, board discussions, investor presentations, and customer-facing pitches.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate combines structured thinking, strong analytics, creativity, energy, and close attention to detail. Success in this role depends on the ability to work with limited guidance, manage priorities effectively, and produce polished outputs for senior stakeholders.

This role calls for solid finance and operations analysis skills, comfort reviewing financial statements, and familiarity with GAAP and IFRS. The team also values experience using trusted sources such as Capital IQ, AlphaSense, sell-side research, and similar data platforms.

You should also have hands-on modeling capability, including building well-documented and auditable market models, bottom-up sizing exercises, three-statement financial models, and valuation work using methods such as discounted cash flow and trading or transaction comparables.

Experience working with large datasets and tools like Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel/VBA is important. The role further requires strong problem structuring skills, disciplined work planning, proactive communication with managers, and the ability to convert complex analysis into high-quality slide presentations.

A strong drive to investigate difficult problems, build original fact bases, and use both internal and external resources creatively is essential.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in a relevant discipline.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a top-tier consulting firm or in a similar background such as investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or corporate development.
• Strong financial and operational analysis skills, including review of financial statements and comfort with GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience using modeling and valuation approaches such as DCF and trading or transaction comparables.
• Ability to work with large data sets and analytical automation tools including Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel/VBA.
• Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and executive communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Background in automotive or industrial markets.
• Ability to work with Python scripts and familiarity with libraries such as pandas and NumPy.
• Professional fluency in Mandarin, Japanese, German, or Korean.
• Willingness and ability to be on site in Boston every day.

The stated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000, along with competitive benefits. Final compensation will depend on work experience, education, skills, and other factors relevant to the hiring decision.
