Assistant Online Manager

About the role

The Assistant Department Manager position is an entry point into leadership at Woolworths Group, designed to build a career in retail through practical experience, coaching, and development support. In this role, you will contribute to the everyday running of the department while working with the wider store team to deliver a positive shopping experience and a supportive workplace.

You will be supported through the Store Leadership Pathway, which is intended to strengthen your leadership capability and broaden your understanding of department operations. The role is also part of the company’s broader internal career pathway and is important to the smooth day-to-day functioning of the store.

Working arrangement

Roster option 1 is Tuesday to Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role also offers the flexibility of a 4-day working week, subject to personal needs and business requirements.

What you will contribute

• Use customer-first behaviours to create a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience, following the Everyday ACTs approach: Acknowledge, Care and Thank.
• Help keep the team and customers safe by ensuring store procedures are followed correctly.
• Build a solid understanding of department operations so you can provide dependable day-to-day support to the team.
• Work cooperatively with others to achieve strong results across the department and store.
• Develop your leadership style and prepare yourself for future leadership responsibilities.
• Recognise the value of working across stores to help deliver a consistently strong customer experience.
