About the role
This position sits within the Commercial Infrastructure & Governance team and plays a key role in supporting the Programme Management Office and the broader Urban Development and Delivery group with the administration and management of a varied contract portfolio.
The work covers Kāinga Ora’s Council Controlled Organisation agreements, civil construction contracts, and consultancy services arrangements. In addition, the role contributes to procurement activity, independently handles UDD land sale transfers, and maintains important contract records, datasets, and databases.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and administer contracts tied to large-scale, greenfields, and complex projects.
- Support and manage contract administration across CCO agreements, civil works agreements, and consultancy service contracts.
- Assist with procurement activity and take the lead on selected procurement tasks.
- Independently manage UDD land sale transfers.
- Keep contract information, datasets, and databases accurate and up to date.
Experience and capabilities
The organisation is looking for someone with relevant tertiary study and at least 3 to 5 years of closely related professional experience. Strong hands-on experience in contract administration and support for major infrastructure projects is important.
Useful knowledge includes contract law and business administration, although these are desirable rather than mandatory. Success in this role also depends on comfort working in a complex, fast-moving environment, along with the ability to improve processes, work across multiple teams, and build trusted relationships.
Additional information
This is a fixed-term secondment based in the Hobsonville office and runs until August 2027. The successful candidate must be able to begin in the first week of August 2026.
Applications close on Monday, 6 July 2026 at 11:55pm. Applicants are expected to use the organisation’s online recruitment process. Any queries about the role can be directed to the contact email provided in the listing.
Equity and inclusion
The employer values diversity and is committed to working respectfully and inclusively with both colleagues and customers. People from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, and differences in experience and perspective are welcomed.
