Role Overview
Advisors Excel is seeking a UX/UI Designer to create digital experiences that are visually strong, easy to use, and aligned with business goals. This role sits within the Creative Services department and reports to the Web Design Art Director. The position is based onsite in Topeka, Kansas.
The work focuses on designing experiences that support financial advisor clients and internal teams. You will work alongside copywriters, web developers, and account managers to build websites, landing pages, email campaigns, social ads, and other digital assets that combine thoughtful design with measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Turn concepts into interactive digital experiences using a user-centered design approach.
- Create design solutions for websites, landing pages, email campaigns, social ads, and related marketing materials.
- Produce wireframes, user journeys, mockups, prototypes, and polished final designs.
- Build interfaces that improve usability, accessibility, engagement, and conversion performance.
- Apply current UX and UI standards to deliver smooth and intuitive user experiences.
- Research user needs, collect project requirements, and refine designs using feedback.
- Work with account managers to convert business objectives into effective creative output.
- Coordinate closely with developers so designs are executed accurately and consistently.
- Join advisor discovery sessions, creative intake meetings, and design review discussions.
- Assist advisors with website-related questions and help troubleshoot design concerns.
- Support social media and digital marketing projects when needed.
- Keep up with design trends, accessibility expectations, new tools, and evolving UX practices.
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate has several years of hands-on experience in UX/UI, web design, or digital design and a portfolio that demonstrates strong visual design, problem-solving ability, and user-focused thinking. You should be comfortable building wireframes, flows, prototypes, and interface designs, and be highly skilled in Figma.
This role also calls for working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Webflow, and Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator. A solid grasp of UX fundamentals, information architecture, responsive design, accessibility, and usability principles is important. Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment are also essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Digital Design, UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related area.
- Background in agency, advertising, or marketing environments.
- Experience using WordPress and Dreamweaver.
- Exposure to user research, usability testing, or behavior analytics.
