Role overview
This is a permanent full-time opportunity in Emerald, Queensland, within the housekeeping, kitchen utility, and general utility space. The position is based on a drive-in, drive-out arrangement for Emerald and the nearby suburbs, with roster options of 14/7, 8/6, or 7/7. Cater Care is looking for reliable team members who want to take on a practical, varied role in a fast-paced site environment.
The position suits people who are eager for a fresh start or a new direction in hospitality and facilities services. You will support smooth day-to-day operations by helping keep kitchens, dining areas, guest rooms, and shared spaces clean, safe, and well organised. The role is designed for someone who values teamwork, attention to detail, and consistent service.
Key duties
- Arrange dining spaces at the start of service, keep them running smoothly, and clear them down afterwards.
- Use dishwashing equipment and maintain hygienic standards across kitchen areas, utensils, and dining zones.
- Follow all required food safety and hygiene rules at all times.
- Deliver prompt, courteous service when volumes are high.
- Assist colleagues across different work areas whenever support is needed.
- Prepare and serve texture-modified meals in line with dietary needs.
- Look after the dining room by cleaning surfaces, restocking supplies, and making sure crib food levels remain adequate.
- Carry out housekeeping tasks such as cleaning guest rooms and ensuites and making beds when required.
- Complete general cleaning duties including waste handling, sweeping, mopping, and upkeep of communal areas.

Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will bring at least 12 months of experience in a similar role such as utility worker, utility all-rounder, cleaner, housekeeper, or kitchen hand. A genuine commitment to friendly customer service is important, along with a positive, motivated, and proactive approach. You should be comfortable working in a time-sensitive, high-pressure environment and take pride in personal grooming and hygiene.

Applicants must hold a current driver’s licence, either automatic or manual. Candidates must also be Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents. Successful applicants will need to have, or be willing to obtain, a police clearance and complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
