Role Overview
The Training Analyst supports trainers during exercises by providing observation and analysis assistance. This role acts as a key point of contact with Army Observer Trainers during military exercises, helping share simulation-related information connected to tactical manoeuvre training. The position also serves as a main resource for training military personnel on the operation and upkeep of simulation training equipment.
This is a field-based position and requires substantial time spent deployed in operational environments. The role reports under general supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the handover and return of all equipment issued to customers during exercises.
- Carry out operator maintenance and functional checks on the mission system.
- Support the setup of the Exercise Control Centre, accommodation, and After-Action Review facilities.
- Deliver pre-exercise instruction to participating personnel.
- Run an analysis station in the control centre for each exercise.
- Work with Army Observer Trainers to review tactical events and help produce multimedia After Action Review material.
- Support collection and organisation of training observations with Army Observer Trainers.
- Enter Observer Trainer observations into the Defence lessons database.
- Help prepare the exercise Take Home Pack, including lessons learned and AAR summaries.
- Assist management in improving and following standard operating procedures.
- Support Engineer Systems in refining SOPs related to their area of responsibility.
- Help set up and dismantle equipment for training exercises.
- Operate support vehicles up to medium rigid class.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Successful completion of a National Police Check is required.

Working Environment
