Role Overview
This position reports to the Service Manager and supports the service department with spare parts assembly and packing activities. The role is based onsite in Napier and is part of the Service Operations team. Day-to-day work involves using shop-floor equipment to make sure spare parts and modules are assembled correctly, packed safely, and dispatched to customers on schedule.
Key Duties
- Assemble spare parts in line with work instructions and product specifications.
- Carry out quality checks and confirm items are accurate before they are packed.
- Package products according to defined packing procedures, including ESD protection and safety requirements.
- Get packages ready for shipment and dispatch.
- Pick parts from inventory using SAP pick lists and production orders when needed.
- Keep stock records up to date and record completion status in SAP and other systems.
- Complete administrative tasks such as labelling, barcoding, and documentation.
- Manage both routine and unusual assembly tasks with a practical, solution-focused approach.
Required Skills and Knowledge
The role calls for SAP experience, including pick lists, production orders, and inventory processes. You should also understand packing standards, labelling, and barcoding, and be familiar with ESD handling for electronic components. The ability to interpret technical instructions, use basic IT tools, and work with warehouse management systems is also important.
