Role overview
The Site Lead is the top operational leader at the location and carries full responsibility for performance across cost, people, production, quality, safety and environmental results. The role oversees a unionized manufacturing site, with a strong emphasis on industrial relations, employee engagement and compliance.
This position turns group-level strategy into local execution and is accountable for achieving operational and financial goals while building a high-performance, values-driven culture.
Key responsibilities
- Own the site's operational and financial results, including budgets, cost management and efficiency objectives.
- Direct all manufacturing activity and ensure targets are met across safety, quality, cost, delivery, people and sustainability measures.
- Shape and deliver the site plan, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage, coach and strengthen the site leadership team in a unionized manufacturing setting.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety, environmental, food safety and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Develop productive working relationships with internal teams, customers, regulators and external stakeholders.
Experience and qualifications
- Demonstrated senior leadership background in dairy processing, food ingredients or a comparable manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to deliver operational, financial and people outcomes in complex manufacturing operations.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a strong emphasis on capability building and mentoring.
- Commercially minded, with a continuous improvement approach and a track record of improving efficiency and creating value.
- Solid knowledge of food safety, quality systems and regulatory compliance.
- A degree, or equivalent qualification, in Engineering, Food Science, Agricultural Science, Manufacturing, Operations or a related field is preferred.
